Dr. Thomas was the originator and developer of Diversity Management. Hailed as the “The Father of Diversity Management,” Dr. Thomas defined diversity as “any collective mixture characterized by differences, similarities, and their related tensions and complexities.” Dr. Thomas’ classic and pioneering framework, the Strategic Diversity Management Process™ (SDMP), continues to impact thousands through skills-based training, professional consulting, eLearning, and measurement tools.
Sho is an ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter and Teacher of the Deaf with a current focus in middle school math and ELA (English Language Arts). With a Masters in Education, she has over 11 years of teaching experience, including 6 years in the classroom. In addition to teaching, she has served as an ASL Performance Interpreter for the last 5 years, interpreting various events, such as plays, concerts, and conferences.
As a music composer, performer and conductor, April brings a unique approach to diversity management, by merging the technical and creative concepts found in high-performance orchestras with the award-winning methodology of her father, the late Dr. R. Roosevelt Thomas, Jr., who was hailed globally as the Father of Diversity.
